How UBC calculates GPA
University of British Columbia uses a 4.0 scale for grade point average. Each letter grade maps to a grade point value, shown in the table below. Your GPA is the credit-weighted average of your grade points: each course's points are multiplied by its credit weight, summed, and divided by your total credits.

Tips for an accurate result
Use the credit weights exactly as they appear on your transcript — a full-year course usually carries more weight than a half course.
